Superbad

So, after months and months of having it worked up, I finally watched Superbad. I'll be the first to admit, this movie was certainly not funny. For all the hype and the talk-up this movie had received, I was quite ashamed that the few times I laughed involved Michael Cera and Seth Rogan. But let's be real, for the near 2 hours, I think I only chuckled a handful of times. Rather disappointing. I will also be the first to say that Jonah Hill is freaking annoying. He is like a young Lewis Black. Loud obnoxious voices should not be considered funny. Why? Because they're not.

We Need to...

I think we need to embrace some previously established, but currently non-exercised terminology.

1. Trousers. I need to wash my trousers. You never hear that in the USA. Why not? Its a great word. Trousers. Not pants. Pants are stupid.

2. Court. As in, "Hello, agreeable young lady. You are most fair in your countenance and I wish nothing more than to court thee." But we don't hear that. Its a shame. In today's society it is hard to define any relationship, unless you are married. Even then, how many married couples do we hear about that both husband and wife cheat religiously and openly on each other? But back to the point...if you are interested in somebody you could be:

  • hanging out
  • seeing each other
  • don't have a word to define the relationship
  • dating
  • hooking up
  • together when you are together, but not when you're not
  • and many, many more

We need to embrace these terms because, well, I said so.
